If you suffer from sinusitis, hay fever, nasal polyps or a post nasal drip there are various options available to you to rid yourself of these problems.

Nasal polyps are usually caused by prolonged hay fever, asthma and chronic and recurrent infection of the sinuses. Polyps grow on the linings of the nasal passages and sinus cavities and causes the soft tissue linings to become inflamed. The result is a constant running nose, inability to smell or taste, obstruction of air through the nasal passages, that can lead to snoring, and constant sneezing. Cigarette smoke and alcohol can aggravate the situation.

One of your options is to have the polyps removed surgically and have your sinuses drained. All I can say about this is that when I asked the nose, throat and ear specialist what discount I could get if I paid him cash up front his answer was “none.” I was quite taken aback by his answer but when I made further enquiries I had to hear that the risk that he had to take in doing the operation was to big to give me a discount. “What about the risk for me” I thought. Furthermore you have to be isolated for roughly two weeks after the operation because if you get an infection in that wound you have serious problems. I have also read reports of people who had their sinuses drained and afterwards they suffered from crossed eyes because the surgeon cut the nerve or muscle  above the eye by accident. The other big problem is that fifty percent of all people find that the polyps start growing back again after twelve months.

I’ve had great success treating the problem with a natural product produced by Mannatech but at R2 000 pm it wasn’t a viable option for me. I have also found another natural product called “Sinuswars13” that people rave about but once again when you multiply 69 USD by 15 it will cost you R1 035 plus transport.

There is another option though. Try these natural remedies. It is a bit of a schlep to make but it’s cheap in comparison and IT WORKS.

Mix two table spoons of apple cider vinegar with a third of a glass of water. Drink three times a day. It will soon clear your sinuses and get rid of the post nasal drip.

Mix one tea spoons of salt and one tea spoon of sugar in 500 ml lukewarm water. Pore into empty nose spray bottle and spray into your nose in the morning. The salt will disinfect and the sugar will help to heal the nasal mucosa according to a nose, throat and ear specialist. You will have eight hours of relief.

Drink Brewer’s Yeast pills. It will help with your blocked nose.

Mix two tablespoons of turmeric, ginger powder and cinnamon together. Buy raw honey. Now mix a quarter of a teaspoon of the mix with a quarter of a teaspoon of honey in a quarter cup of lukewarm water. Mix well and drink. Initially you can drink it up to four times a day and then reduce it to twice a day.

It doesn’t taste too bad but it is natural and it WORKS.

Chop up an onion into fine pieces. Seal it in a plastic holder that seals well. Pour a tablespoon or two sugar over the onion and leave it overnight at room temperature. “Drink” a tea spoon of the concoction every morning. It also helps a lot to stop your running nose.

To compliment this procedure buy yourself a product called Allerway at the pharmacy. If you suffer terribly from hay-fever this is the product to use. It has no side effects and, works within the hour and lasts all day.
